Andres Gaeta was born in a small town outside of Chicago, Illinois. He was raised in a predominantly Spanish-speaking family of immigrants from Jalisco, Mexico. Often spending the entirety of his summer in Jalisco with his grandparents, Andres witnessed first-hand the difficulties of living in another country with little to no opportunities for its citizens. It was these difficulties that led to his family's search for a better life in the United States.

Andrés Gaeta nació en un pueblo chico cercas de Chicago, Illinois. Fue criado en una familia de inmigrantes de Jalisco, México, que predominantemente hablaban Español. Cada año, se pasaba sus veranos enteros en Jalisco con sus abuelos donde fue testigo de primera mano de las dificultades de la gente a causa de inseguridad y muy pocas oportunidades. Fueron estas mismas dificultades las que llevaron a su familia a buscar una vida mejor en los Estados Unidos.

Andres did not waste the great opportunity that his family, and this country provided. Andres graduated from high school in the United States. Upon his graduation, he felt a need to give back to the country that had provided so much opportunity for him and his family. This led to Andres’ decision to join the United States Navy. Andres began his military service in February 2000 and remained on active duty until he became a member of the Navy Reserves in 2011. He continues to serve and contribute to his country as a “Chief” in the United States Naval Reserve.

Andrés no desaprovechó la gran oportunidad que le brindó su familia y este país. Andrés se graduó de la escuela secundaria en los Estados Unidos. Después de su graduación, sintió la necesidad de regresarle algo al país por las tantas oportunidades que le había brindado a él y a su familia. Esto llego a la decisión de unirse con la Marina Militar de los Estados Unidos. Andrés comenzó su servicio militar en febrero del 2000 y permaneció en servicio activo hasta el 2011 cuando hizo la decisión de salir de servicio activo y entrar a la Reserva de la Marina Militar de los Estados Unidos. El continúa sirviendo y contribuyendo a su país y mantiene el grado de “jefe” en la Reserva.

After leaving active duty, Andres began his work serving the community as a probation officer for the 5th Judicial Circuit for the State of Florida. He later moved to the State of Illinois and began working with at-risk youths for the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice. In both of these positions, Andres developed a diverse skill set working in the criminal justice and social work fields. This caused him to recognize the tremendous need in the immigrant community for a relatable spokesperson who understands their language and the intricacies that they are all part of.

Después de dejar el servicio militar activo, Andrés comenzó su trabajo sirviendo a la comunidad como Oficial de Libertad Condicional para el Quinto Circuito Judicial del Estado de Florida. Después, se mudó al estado de Illinois y comenzó a trabajar con jóvenes en riesgo para el Departamento de Justicia Juvenil de Illinois. En ambos puestos, Andrés desarrolló una experiencia diversa de habilidades trabajando en las áreas de justicia criminal y trabajo social. Esto hizo que reconociera la tremenda necesidad en la comunidad de inmigrantes de alguien con quien se pudieran relacionar y que entienda su idioma y las complejidades de las que todos forman parte.

Andres decided the best way to help his community was to become an attorney. He attended law school at Florida Coastal School of Law and was a member of the Law Review editing team and served as the Vice-President of the Student Bar Association. Andres was a key member of the school’s Immigration Law Clinic where he spent a majority of his time helping clients and their families with their immigration demands. As the lead organizer of the school’s annual “Citizenship Day”-an event which focused on assisting immigrants with their naturalization cases for little to no cost- Andres advertised and organized this event for the benefit of many.

Andrés decidió que la mejor manera de ayudar a su comunidad era de estudiar para ser abogado. El se puso a estudiar la ley en la escuela de Florida Coastal School of Law donde fue miembro y editor de la Revista de Ley y sirvió como el vicepresidente de la Asociación de Abogados Estudiantes. Andrés también fue un miembro clave de la Clínica de Derecho de Inmigración de la escuela, donde pasó la mayor parte de su tiempo ayudando a los clientes y sus familias con sus demandas de inmigración. Como organizador principal del "Día de la Ciudadanía" anual de la escuela, un evento que se centró en ayudar a los inmigrantes con sus casos de naturalización por poco o ningún costo, Andrés anunció y organizó este evento para el beneficio de muchos.

Andres has since dedicated his time as an attorney to working with immigrants and their families to achieve the American Dream. He is passionate about helping families become informed of their rights as well as the potential avenues to becoming permanent residents and eventually American Citizens. This is something deeply ingrained in his being given his own family’s pathway to citizenship. Andres sees his own family in his clients and seeks to represent those who too often go unrepresented.

Desde entonces, Andrés ha dedicado su tiempo como abogado a trabajar con inmigrantes y sus familias para lograr el Sueño Americano. Le apasiona ayudar a las familias a informarles sobre sus derechos y como navegar las diferentes avenidas para un día hacerse residentes permanentes y eventualmente ciudadanos estadounidenses. Esto es algo profundamente personal para el siendo algo que su propia familia ha experimentado. Andres ve a su propia familia en cada uno de sus clientes y busca representar a aquellos que demasiadas veces se encuentran sin representación.
